Carl is President of Chartwell Partners and the founder of ETFfolios.

He has more than 20 years of experience in the investment business and has been an ETF specialist since 2002.

Carl was an ETF specialist with UBS Paine Webber, opened markets in Hong Kong and Australia as a Vice President with the investment bank Robert W. Baird & Company, covered Asian & European markets with BancBoston, was an international economist with the U.S. Congress, consultant to the U.S. Treasury, and represented the United States on the Board of Directors of the Asian Development Bank based in Manila, Philippines.

Carl has written three books on global ETF investing, writes frequently for Forbes, is host of the “ETF World” radio program and is a frequent speaker on global investing and ETFs.

He is a graduate of the Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy and attended Sophia & Keio University in Tokyo, Japan. Carl is also chairman of the Pacific Council of the United States.
